Yummy brunch with reasonable price!
The sirloin steak was delicious, medium rare sirloin was tender and not too thick. I like the crispy tomato and over cooked egg. French toast was crispy and not too greasy. Coffee was a little bit expensive but you can refill it.
The service were warmly. The owner came to our table to ask our feelings.
Several free parting spots. Clean restaurant. -

My family was spending a short amount of time in Vancouver before we headed up to Alaska for a trip. We were looking for a good breakfast since we had a long day ahead of us, and of course I turned to Yelp to see what's good in this new city (to all of us). The Northern Cafe & Grill popped up and my family easily agreed because the menu looked legit and was exactly what we were looking for.
As we pulled up to this little industrial/logging area, my family started doubting me. "Really?" "Are you sure it's here?" "What have you gotten us into?"
Joke's on them because we pull up to this little, unassuming, family-run restaurant and walk up the stairs into the diner. There we were greeted immediately with openness and genuine friendliness.
The food was awesome. Everything was cooked from scratch. Scratch pancakes, hand-cut fries--I could go on.
We chatted with the father & son team that morning and left feeling great and raving about the place. If you're in Vancouver, definitely stop by this place. You won't be disappointed. And the 5-stars is TOTALLY earned and accurate. -

So first I'm going to start by saying....this place is CASH only! I read several reviews on Yelp before trying this place and didn't see one of them say it's cash only. Needless to say we arrived and had to leave because we never carry cash!
But we went back and finally got to try this little place.
It's run by Jerry...a very sweet and super talkative man. If you don't feel like eating and chatting, don't come here! He came up to me and my girlfriends about 4 times during our 1 hour meal to tell us something about himself. He's very sweet, but that was a bit much, lol
I ordered the pancake combo, 2-2-2. Comes with 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, and two sausage or bacon links. The sausage is locally made and Jerry makes sure you know, he doesn't use boxed anything! It's all fresh! And you can taste the difference. The pancakes were fluffy, and the eggs perfectly cooked! The price is also excellent. So I'll definitely be back, just will make sure to have my coffee first -

We've been living in the neighbourhood for 16 years we only started coming here a couple of years ago. It is a diner at its best--simple, honest food and unpretentious, friendly people . For some reason this place is always buzzing, the owner/chef, the customers, the busy walls full of reviews/notes left by hundreds of customers from all over the world. Everybody seems happy! On top of the happy vibe, you can just tell that the chef knows how to cook. Whether it's old school diner food or Chinese dishes it's all good. If you are looking for a 5-star establishment with excellent cuisine, don't come to this little diner where nothing, including the floor, is straight or level. You come here with cash--very important since they don't take cards--to have a good time.
